Echoes of the Void (2024)
Welcome to my new collection, inviting contemplation on themes of isolation, technological progress, and the human condition. Through these artworks, I explore the enduring quest for connection & meaning in what feels like a vast & empty world.
Technically, I wanted to continue my evolution and deepen my use of artificial intelligence, by creating my own AI model.
Thus, just like for my previous collections, where my photographs were at various levels, parts of the input, there, I found a new way to create something unique and personal.

Missing Horizon
This artwork visually conveys the emotional void left by parted ones. The missing segment encapsulates the lingering emptiness and yearning after a shared horizon is dissolved.

Made with the use of AI
“Missing Horizon” was showcased on 780 screens throughout Belgium, from January 16th -22nd, 2024 thanks to a collaboration with Artcrush & Clear Channel.

Ergo
With this collection, I wanted to go deeper & somehow broader than what I had done before, with always the intent to push what I could achieve as an architecture photographer (for 13 yrs).
I have created a complex iterative breeding process, blending:
- Pure photographs.
- AI artworks using my photos as references (like in “Dream Cities” my first AI collection - see below)
- Pure AI outputs edited as photographs (like in my second collection “Atmosphere” - see below).
A process that reflects my journey as an AI artist, and that allows me to amplify my vision of architecture imagery even further…
The collection
« Ergo » is a series of 1/1 AI artworks made with the use of AI technologies, that explores our relationship to volume & space.

SuperRare
Stand Alone Complex
How does architecture photography question our place in the modern world?
« Stand Alone Complex » is Tristan Le Blevennec’s SuperRare Genesis piece.
It was taken in 2018, in front of the Museum of Art, Architecture & Technology (MAAT), in Lisbon, Portugal.
This piece perfectly illustrates Tristan's graphic and minimalist visual signature and the intention behind his architectural work.
From an early age, Tristan has been nourished by works of science fiction, whether novels, films, comics, or television series. He developed a fascination for fantastic and futuristic universes.
Tristan loves to draw from contemporary architecture what is strongest graphically. The forms are supernatural, the geometries impeccable, the volumes overwhelming, disproportionate.
By introducing a silhouette into a purely graphic space, devoid of any meaning, this environment then becomes a real scene with a character. In the confrontation between the artificial and the man, he introduces surrealism. Tristan thus creates his own science-fiction scenes.
These scenes highlight the strong contrast between the man and the supernatural, almost fantastic environment in which he evolves.
Tristan’s work questions us about our place in the world we have made for ourselves.

Dreams Cities
What happens when you cross an architecture photographer with AI art?
I’m a modern architecture photographer. I play with volumes & scales to create surreal scenes with a clean & minimal aesthetic.
Constantly learning & experimenting, I thrive to grow & push the boundaries of my craft & my genre.
With AI, I can use my extensive experience of shooting architecture (what angles work, how to make it graphic), to push this genre into new territories. Being able to shape spaces, and deform volumes ad infinitum, I can create impossible urban scenes at will.)
I chose to remove all photo-realism from my outputs, barely leaving out any detail or texture so that nothing is identifiable. I wanted to focus on the essence, on our relationship with volumes & spaces. What was important to keep, was a point of reference, a silhouette...
It's a common point with my photo that was important to keep. A silhouette gives a scale & allows the viewer to project themselves into these surreal spaces. But there too I wanted it slender, almost abstract so that it says nothing about itself.
With this collection, I took my vision of minimal and architectural works even further…

Artificial Reality
Man has constructed structures with such complex shapes, supernatural scales, masses, and constraints that push material & laws of physic to their limits. Those amazing constructions now form the new, synthetic environment, we live in.
There is a surreal & fascinating contrast to see a human silhouette, natural, animal, going about its business, caught in these impeccable geometries, crushed by the weight of these disproportionate volumes.
What is our place in this artificial reality?

Time, a lost experience
We live in a constant neuro-stimulus world, that fills every void in our daily lives By going beyond photography & adding subtle changes, I want to captivate my viewer’s attention & slow down their experience of the world, making room again for those voids in time. By focusing their attention on a single point, a work of art, and using a typical event that we have learned to avoid, to no longer pay attention to, I want them to live, to FEEL the passing of time.

(In our) Solitude
This project was born in the context of COVID lockdown, during which the park next to our home became the only place we would go for a walk when we ventured outside.
I have been traveling the world to shoot the most inspiring locations for more than 13 years now. As such being grounded was hard mentally. My need to express my creativity didn’t dimed during those long months.
So I started shooting in this park we now had taken the habit of going to, going out of my comfort zone, and trying to create beauty from the most mundane place for me. It became a routine. Each time the conditions were good, I would head out and shoot in the park.
As months passed I learned to take pictures I liked there, especially when the fog blanketed our neighborhood in mystery
From those cold & humid ventures emerged a powerful series, centered around loneliness. A feeling that transpired from those long months away from our close ones when our world revolved around our apartment and this park.
The title is an homage to the fabulous song “(In my) Solitude” interpreted by Billie Holliday & Oscar Peterson. A song dear to me, one of my dad’s all-time favorites, that I have heard through all my childhood. The sense of nostalgia that it brings in me and its theme matched perfectly with this series.
Yet I want to show that in solitude when everyone is dreaming of a change of scenery, it is possible to find beauty, and thrive right where we are.
I want this positive message to reach as many people as possible, that’s why I’ve made this collection this accessible.

Genesis Piece
Lost in Memory Lane
This piece is a long-awaited achievement of a vision that pushed me to start photography.
A vision that came to reality most amazingly.
A feeling captured and immortalized, that will never be experienced again as the location has since been destroyed.
A story that spanned over more than 10 years, and sparkled the idea behind what would turn out to be one, if not the most, meaningful series of photography I have ever made. A series exploring our relationship with environments we have created for ourselves (see Artificial Environment collection above)
